Just been watching "Grow your own veg " from last night with Carol Klein. I recorded it and the rest of the week as well. I have her book but I thought the programme was wonderful. If you let your mind wander you could have been sat in the warm sun on a blissful afternoon. The bees were busy and the music she had throughout was straight out of my collection from years ago. Genesis and Joni Mitchell. I cant wait to watch the rest of the series. I find her very easy to watch though I know some of you dont care much for her.
Oh for those halcyon days of England long ago

I think she is one of the most brilliant gardeners about. I remember when she used to write in Garden Weekly I used to have it delivered and remember just looking forward her article, whatever it was about.

I bought her book along with four of my friends. It's one of the best  factual reads on the market. She is appearing at a RHS garden in Torrington Devon in the next couple of weeks.

I remember a series she did last year and I was amazed when I heard Genesis playing in the background. I too used to be a fan but have moved on a bit since.
Took me right back. Must look it out and try and watch.
I agree she is easy to watch.

I've just had a look and can't find it. I presume it was on a non-terrestrial channel. In which case I won't be watching ! ..or Five 'til I get the aerial put up on the chimney.

Ho hum.

I may regret saying this but I saw Genesis about 5 or 6 times in the eighties. Saw Yes twice and saw the original line-up in 2003 at Glastonbury. Now that was surreal !

More of a radiohead/Muse with a finger on the Arctic Monkeys pulse type of man nowadays.

But I like to hear the snippets from yesteryear. AS you say, a LOT simpler and less stressful then.  8)

My eldest son is in a band and write their own stuff (they are all upstairs in the garage at the moment recording a demo while they are all back from uni ! ) They do gigs round Derby etc but do what I call shouty music. Individually though they are pretty good on their instruments and have been invited by a signed up local band to do a gig with them in the summer. Though this is the music they play my son also likes my stuff which I have started getting on cds now. Pink Floyd Zeppelin etc.The joke in our house a few months ago was that I had my car broken into in town but they left all my cd collection. My son says he must have been a chav.
