new veg made!!
« on: November 25, 2010, 20:01 »
Well, I've managed to create a new vegetable - I'm calling a 'Spreat'.  It would appear that my sprouts managed to cross breed with my peas and have come out the size of peas - hence 'Spreat'.   ;)  They still taste like sprouts though, and yes I still need to peel them.

Is there anything left to eat after you've peeled them  ::)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

hahaha

that reminded me of the time me and the boys managed to cross bread butter nut squash and pumpkin. Tasted weird but nice.

We named them squashkin and my oh called them a spumpkin.

I gotta say, I can't fathom how legumes can cross with brassicas.
What makes you think they've crossed? What do the "Spreats" look like?

We've got ring-necked parakeets around our plot, but the cats can be a nuisance. If i crossed a cat and a parrot, would I get a carrot?
