new raspberry canes

hi new raspberry canes arrived today so tomorrow weather permitting i intend to plant them , can i put blood and bone meal straight to the roots when i plant them or would this burn the roots i also have a alot of potato fertiliser NPK left over would this be better to put to the roots or is above ground best . many thanks ricky

I wouldn't use the potato fertiliser as that's designed for potatoes.

FBB I usually rake lightly into the top.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

and then I mulch with dead leaves to stop weeds growing around the canes --- new canes come up with no trouble through it  :D

(hope you) dug a trench, chuck a load of muck in  the bottom and also mix more muck with the backfill.  A good dressing of bone meal racked in immediately. Cut back to a about 4".
You can sprinkle a little micorrhizal powder directly onto the roots if you want....
