My B sprouts are getting very tall, is it too early to cut the top out of them?

Have you got a photo? How tall are they exactly?

I've heard that it's best only to remove the top if you want to pick all the sprouts at once (for freezing say). If you want to pick them off the plant as you need them, you might do better to leave the sprout top on.

And as JoshP asks: how tall is tall?

Our's were very tall last year, about 4' due to a very wet year. The same variety are much shorter this year, we have a drought.

They are around 3' so as I do not want to pick all at once I will look to increase the height of the netting. thanks for the information.

Maybe picking out the tops of a plant or 2 each week from now on will give you a steady supply of them for the next few months (depending on how many plants you have, of course)
