Cell sown seeds
« on: May 06, 2010, 21:15 »
Dear All

A dumb question from a novice (well a much improving one I hope).  This year I have planted lots of seeds in the individual little cells.  This has worked really well so far with about 90% germinating.  All the seedlings are now about 1.5 inches high and doing well. I am growing turnips, swede and beetroot this way.

How do I know when to pop them out of the cells and plant them in their final growing positions?

Thanks

If there are more than a couple of roots showing from the bottom of the cells then they're usually ready
