Courgettes
« on: August 21, 2012, 13:43 »
Some of the leaves on my courgettes have turned yellow, others just dead. Should I be removing these leaves along with the storks or ok to just leave them. Also some of the fruits are quite short, a bit thick at one end narrowing down to a skinny end (if this makes sense)
Is this due to a lack of watering?

Cut off any dead or dying leaves near to the main stem - the more ventilation the better at the time of year when mildew often starts to put in an appearance.

Not all home grown courgettes finish up the perfect shape, possibly because of incomplete pollination, although leaving them short of water or food is of course not a good plan for such thirsty, hungry plants.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
