last year we bought some bamboo screening to fit along the inside of the fence to make it look pretty, well it never got done and now looking at the screening and the rusty wire not quite holding it all together - it never will. Last weekend I was instructed to go buy more bamboo canes - well aside from the fact that there were none available at the nearest supplier, they cost a small fortune - now heres my idea, to use the thicker bamboo screen slats as uprights and weave the thinner ones into those to make a sort of open lattice support - wish me luck - the screening came apart depressingly easily, the wire just disintegrated under my touch. I also figure that one roll of screening will give hundreds of whippy supports, for a fraction of the cost per support than canes.
I'll try and remember to post a picture when I am done.

I'd like to see the results --- I have a section of this bamboo stuff lurking in the back of the shed on the plot and was wondering if there were any really practical uses for it
