im thinking of getting some brahmas as a change from the other breeds i have (maran light sussex etc) but ive been told that they dont do well outside and they cant get their feet wet, is this right?

They have feathery feet so should be kept dry or they will suffer.  They'll be OK outside as long as their run is covered to keep it dry.

Yes, they need a dry area but all chickens love to lie in the sun, so make sure the run has sunny areas as well  8)
