I did the 3-sisters method the year before last and it worked okay for me, the beans had no problem swamping the sweetcorn. However I have found growing the beans on their own up a structure is easier for picking.

Freyaluck - I'm same as you - first proper year of growing things for me too, and I will be trying the 3 sisters too.  Maybe we should start a special thread to track everyones progress so we can see where it works/doesn't work...?
