our pekin hen has been sittin on 5 eggs for just over 2 weeks now, nd we think that a rat can get in her house. its an old hen house that we were goin to knock dwn but then pekin went broody so we left er. the house is beyond repair and we dnt want the rat to eat the chick (apparently thts wot they do) so shud we move her now or wait til the eggs have hatched?

You had this question on two threads so I've locked one to keep all the replies together.

I'm afraid I don't know much about hatching chicks but I believe it would probably be best to move  mum and eggs until they have hatched before moving them.  I'm sure someone else will be along to give you better advice on this.

Can you get rid of the rats :?:  Trap / poison / get a rat catcher in ?  I'm sure rats eat eggs too
