I have a large wooden hen house; I want to buy a second plastic house as a hospital/quarantine/red mite decant wing.

I usually have up to 4 chickens, possibly 5 or at the outside 6.

I fancy getting the Eglu Go measuring 80cmx 80cm, which is 6.9 square feet, I think.  This would be fine for hospital and quarantine. Would it be big enough for a temporary shelter, if I had to treat their wooden home for red mites?

A bigger option is the Solway Hen House, but it’s run doesn’t have a fox-proof skirt like the Eglu run.  I could fit a skirt (badly) myself.  But the Eglu looks so easy to set up, for me, and easy for the lady that looks after my chucks when I’m away.

the eglu classic and eglu go and only for 3 hens so not really suitable for the possible 5 or 6. If you want a house for that many you need to look at the eglu cube or the large solway ark.

Have you had a look at the greenfrog (I think that's their name!) coops?  A friend has one and thinks it's great.

I don't like the look of them, but they do seem to do the job.
