yep it can be grown outside, but its not blight resistant - so perhaps not the best variety to grow outside?

Roma does well outside, but as MoS said, there are no blight proof varieties.

Perhaps reading up about what to do when blight threatens, and being prepared, will reduce anxiety  :D :D

I've grown Red Alert for the last 5 years half-in and half out of a coldframe (the lids won't shut when they are fully grown!) and it hasn't failed to deliver yet - being a bush type you don't have to worry about removing side-shoots, and being a very rapid grower it stands a better chance of delivering the goods in a bad blight year.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength
