This/Next years experiment.

Good morning everyone,
The experiment (or should I say one of the experiments) this year is to enclose the strawbs in short 6"-7" lengths of tubing.  The theory is that the strawb plants will grow taller, the fruits will hang down and not touch the ground.  I don't like straw, it looks untidy and harbours beasties!

I'm thinking also of applying thin copper tape around each tube to diswade the slugs (but I'll need to research this). The French Climbing beans are showing their age.
