lettuce in pots
« on: March 17, 2013, 11:27 »
I have a nice mix of lettuce seeds and fancy putting them in pots this year in the garden.

Could I just use soil from the garden or would I be better off with something from a bag? If the latter, what would be best?

Thanks as ever

Provided they are biggish pots, compost mixed with some sand should be fine.  If we get warm weather, do make sure the pots are kept well watered as lack of water will stress plants into bolting and leaves will taste bitter.
