Calabrese,straight in the ground?.
« on: January 27, 2013, 21:53 »
Hy all,I want to grow calabrese this year but am finding conflicting advice regarding sowing (as always),am I o.k to sow straight into the soil or should I grow them in pots in the greenhouse and then transplant them?.Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Start the seed in modules, one seed per cell in the size that you'll get 20 into a half seed tray.

When they've got their first true leaves, transplant to 3" pots & grow onto to about 6" in height.

You'll be planting sturdy plants with a good root ball and you're be getting more for your money out of a packet of seed.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
