Planting Calendar
« on: December 08, 2009, 21:07 »
Hi All
As a complete newbi to the allotment and veg growing is there any form of planting calendar avaliable ?
I know all the sowing and planting info is printed on the back of seed packets but im just starting to dig out my plot and was trying to plan the beds and wondered if there was a form of calendar avalibale to allow me to plan the following year.
As an example some thing alone the lines of - plant veg A in march harvest july plant veg B july harvest oct.....i was hopeing this would give me some ideas to use the beds for two or three differant veg in one season.

The Information pages of the site are always a useful place to start looking.

For example:

http://www.allotment-garden.org/garden_month.php

and

http://www.allotment-garden.org/vegetable/general/sowing-harvest-vegetable-chart.php
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hi Chris, glad you got fixed up. A friend of mine, Bart, has two plots on your site so if you know him and see him, say hello from me.
                                            Cheers,  Alfman.

All I do for my planning is to go through all my seed packets and put them on my computer diary, always putting it on a Friday (as I have finished for the week), and I set reminders on all of them, which pop up to "remind" to sow whatever that weekend.  Its brilliant and works.
