Overwintering Onions meant for spring planting
« on: June 16, 2014, 17:44 »
I've acquired some Red Baron and Setton onions - by the looks they're meant for planting in April.  Has anyone had any success in overwintering these varieties ?

If not, any suggestions as to how to deal with the sets - I don't really want to use them as green onions, but if there's no other option....

Cheers
Phil

Welcome to the site  :D

They won't keep for later planting, I don't think, so I'd get them in and see what they do this summer.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Thanks - I'll see what happens - got a bit of space I've just cleared of brambles which I had no immediate plans for, I'll bung them in there and see what happens.
