Well done   :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've had fruit outdoors for a while now. Good right? No.

They are predicting a night of 4-5 degrees centrigrade for tomorrow. The whole week is going to be cold apparently.

What to do? Can tomatoes take a few night of below 10C?

Grrr...sometimes i really hate living in finland.

Mine have survived a few consecutive nights that like, admittedly a bit smaller than yours and in the ground, so the roots won't have got so cold. However, yours are close to the house, so unlikely to get quite as cold as the forecast low.

Madame Cholet's idea of fleecing is a good one, but not easy to do with canes. You could do with something like a tent. Is it practical to take some indoors and leave them in the kitchen, say, and take them back out before anyone gets up and wants to make a cup of tea? I've been known to sneak plants in late at night and then back out in the morning.

By the way, what are those things over by your low picket fence? Are they pumpkins already?

Can you fleece them?

I had already build a fleece "wall" the week before because temperature had been dropping already and it was very windy.

I am planning to add some more fleece cover (other side and maybe on top) this evening after work.

And here is a picture of some tomatoes present on my tomatoes on the allotment.

I am actually going to empty my greenhouse and terras in my backgarden and put all tomatoes in pots inside for tonight.

keeping my fingers crossed.

And i just checked the weather forecast. It has been changing again. Slightly warmer weather predicted for tonight. 8 degrees centigrade minimum temperature. That is better than 5.

Maybe all will be fine.

Thanks Snoop but twas not me who needed to fleece   I live by myself, so if it were to get significantly cold it would be the kitchen / dining room / spare bedroom / living room full of tomatoes! Those would be the tail end of last years pumpkins, out for the compost. Still a few solid butternuts left.

They predicted 8 degrees celsius for last night. I was actually 4. In the greenhouse that is.

Didn't bring any pots in.  :(

I thought they could handle one night of 8 degrees.

today it is not going to be above 10 so I brought half my pots in (about 20). The rest I left in the greenhouse (although that is not just tomatoes, also chillies, peppers, auburgines and cucumber). It was already getting warm there.

The plants in my living room. There are more in my kitchen.

Can't do much about the 30 plants or so on my allotment. I put some more fleece on them yesterday evening.

I am starting to feel the desperation farmers have when their crop is threatened. The weather doesn't seem to be improving for the next night.

I will just move everthing from my greenhouse inside as well.

Oh man. I really hate this.
