Black Russian tomatoes
« on: July 30, 2017, 22:01 »
Growing these for the first time this year and they are monster sized plants  :D
They reached the top of the greenhouse a couple of weeks ago and are now bending along the roof glass  ;)
Have lots of flowers but only small amount of small green tomatoes.
Hoping for a good crop eventually

Me too.   I'm not sure they are going to have time to mature before the end of the season - they are very small at the moment.  I keep feeding them!

I have the same, first time I have tried them, ironically I read they were good in the British climate!

Grew Black Russian, last year, and the year before. Plants weren't that big, but the fruits were medium to large with a very good flavour.

I'm sure seed varies from year to year and depending on supplier which may explain your plants. What are you feeding them?

My dad has grown these for a few years and they are very nice. I've not grown any toms this year but have bought some Black Russian seeds (as well as some others) so will be growing some next year.

Had small pack of these when they were an offer so only had about six seeds in pack.
Need to have a go at saving seeds from them. Not tried to before  ;)
