Hi All,

After 5 years of trying to grow Peas without any success, this season I did things the DD way.

I Sowed 3 packets of Kelveden Wonder Peas in late March & covered them with Enviromesh which was weighed down to stop the Mice getting to the seed and seedlings.

This worked and I took the mesh off yesterday & today I rigged up a string wall as per DD's Pea picture from a couple of years ago. The plants are all about 12 - 18 inches high.

I watered them today because of the hot weather we are currently enjoying. But do Peas need regular watering? Also I have not netted, will the flying rats have a go at them or given how tall they are will they be safe?

I give mine a drop of water in really dry weather, my soil is still quite moist underneath, so I haven't yet.

They should be safe from now until pod setting time, but I find it safest & just as easy to keep them netted.
