I've had those around my PSB and they are doing really well, just the odd nibble where I think the slugs have gained access by sliding over the underside of the veggiemesh.

I have since bought a 10L bag of the wool pellets which I intend to mulch around the carrot seedlings and the newly transplanted kale and cabbage.

I've just had three plants I potted on destroyed, I put them on top of two stacked bricks which were resting on a paving slab, the upper brick had copper tape wrapped around it. Turns out the slug, which was nearly an inch in diameter, had managed to get between the two bricks, up the hole in the inside of the top brick and out again to gain access. Needless to say it is now sliced in half. 

I've never had a problem with cats eating slug pellets!

They are pellets which form a wool mat when moistened which is uncomfortable for slugs to traverse. As far as barrier methods go they seem to work, of course you have to sprinkle them densely enough that the wool mat is continuous around the plants you want to protect so there are no gaps for slugs to get through.

Well, that sounds too good to be true... a slug barrier, a mulch, and a fertiliser all in one. And of course would it work as a cabbage root fly collar as well. I assume not, as the video promos I've just seen don't mention it.
I wonder as to it's efficacy where slugs are concerned, and to it's cost in reality per plant protected. I haven't found a price yet.
I'm wondering if it's a Pinner/Purbright gardening thing more than an allotment vegetable thing.
I would be delighted if it works at a reasonable cost. Next year will tell after people have tried it for a season.
