feather growth

feather growth

My leghorn hens were barn reared. One of them had a cut just above its tail. Has healed but there's alot of feather loss round its back. Will these feathers grow back . If so how long should it take?

Hi and welcome to the forum, I have ex-free range hens and they were quite bald when I got them, as for feathering up it took one of mine a year and the others about 8 months, so it depends, I mixed in some ex-batt crumb with their mash because that has extra protein to help with the feather growth,
