Thanks everyone I dont feel such an idiot, so but outdoor cucumber to grow indoors nest year... I will do this from seed. Socrates here we come.

They are always much happier when watered from underneath. Mine went wilty a few times when they were smaller but perked up when stood in a tray of water and moved into the shade (still in the greenhouse). They have been out in the unheated greenhouse since April and have been fine. (although I did put a heater on very low on frosty nights)

I sowed 6 seeds, 100% germination, and every one of them grew big and strong without a single check so far - just like last year :)

which variety are you growing Shokky, cos some of them can take cooler temps and I'd love to know which is which  :)

Mine are cucumber socrates and the pack said will take cooler temps

That's good to know - I have a few of these (which I started a bit late so they're still only tiny) but it wasn't a variety I'd heard of.  Gives me hope!

Lotty holder since Aug 09... I've FINALLY finished clearing it! On with the p.lanting  ....

Mine were draped in double fleece so I was a bit surprised to see them wilting due to cold. Also two of the plants are fine so not sure that it's anything to do with being cold.
