Mince from the freezer, 1/2 can of beans in the fridge, add some onion and chilli and hey presto - cheapskate's chilli con carne on a jacket potato
Plain yogurt and apple sauce afterwards.

Managed to burn my tongue on a chicken cup-a-soup yesterday  ::) so skipped tea and everything has a nasty metallic taste still. Shopping was delivered yesterday so I'm planning a simple chilli in the slow cooker with plain rice that should do for a few CBA days.

More lamb in some shape or form. Maybe cottage pie or lamb stew.
Yesterday’s was not cooked well enough for us, it turned out the 1/2 shoulder was very big & could have done with going in sooner, so dinner was a tad later than normal, I’d also defrosted the breast of lamb from the half of lamb we bought, I roasted that at the same time, but ended up putting it all in the slow cooker after dinner for 3 hours (had intended that for the breast anyway) so it’s all very tender now & has yielded a few lbs of meat. The bones & scrap is back in the slow cooker & I intend to can some of the stock this time as a first & to save freezer space.

Salmon, new potatoes, carrots and green beans.  Have had chicken for two nights in a row so wanted something different.

The salmon was as tough and tough can be.  We presume it's been in the freezer for a while as we've never had this before.  Neither of us could eat it.  I'm sure the seagulls will enjoy it!

I split the mince before making the chilli, leftover chilli into the freezer (it wasn't a good one) and deconstructed cottage pie tonight so I can use up some mixed veg.
