Just went to top up the pellets in the run. As I was closing the door to the pen I turned round and there was head chook on top of one of the other girls as if they were mating, she was pecking the top of her head too. I shooed her off and checked the wee lady, she seemed fine and unperturbed by the whole thing.

Is this normal as I've never noticed anything like it before.

Sometimes the top hen can assume cockerel tendencies and is quite normal
