obviously I don't know what you have done but garlic likes cold before it gets started. Last year I planted about the same as you in March - nothing showed so I planted spinach in same bed, come the winter the garlic popped up and is now going very strong - no misses in the row. Bit tedious getting the spinach but that was OK too. Seems garlic can be planted too late and does not kick off if warm

I think that's already been asked!

Best to plant garlic in the month of Nov. dig ans soften the soil, rake flat and just poke a garlic piece into the soil. over time it will pop through.

Don't forget that there are spring planting varieties too.

Until marvbull tells us what s/he's planted & when, we can't offer any specific advice.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

And plant them the right way up (yep - another classic mistake I've made!).  ::)

I was told that they can rot over winter if the soil is too water logged? (Someone who planted a lot that didn't come up told me this), and that if you are worried about drainage you can add a bit of sand to the hole before planting. After all that has been said about planting time, I had quite a surprise, as a friend helped me out at my allotment about three weeks ago. She bought with her some garlic her mum had given her, from France (for eating, not growing) and planted it. I expected nothing, wrong time of year, warm weather, etc. Couldn't believe my eyes yesterday it has all sprouted! I expect that your garlic will appear when you have forgotten all about it!
