Why are polytunnels so dear?? Its only a few hoops and a bit of wood..Seem awfully overpriced and I'll never get one.. :(

check freecycle for the hoops .then buy builders damp proof membrane. cheaper by far  :wink:

theres something going on here with visqueen,we use a number of building supliers and none of them stock clear visqueen its blue or black,the only clear one you can get is as thin as paper its more of a protective sheet.

i have had the hoops since the late eightys :shock: but not yet put up the tunnel. maybe next year.  i dont think they overly expensive. Against a Greenhouse of similar size they are resonable.

Even the 8ft wide smallest length comes in at about £250.. Ridiculous.

It can help if you're in the right place at the right time.... *ahem*

A local builder who was doing work for us at the training site left a huge roll of the stuff to put over the windows if the demolition of some outbuildings caused a lot of dust into the offices.

Well, it was never used and just sat in my office for ages so when I left it left with me!!  :lol:

No-one minded though!  Well; what would they have used it for!?   8)

if you want the polly to last for more than 12 months get the real stuff,your usual visqueen just goes brittle in the sunlight and falls to bits in no time at all.
