The lumps in the leavington's are lumps of 'matter' not lumps where the compost is stuck together. Mostly lumps of wood!!! and what looks like unrotted rope, all sort of stranded together stuff.
Certainly won't be buying it again for the money....after all it's not one of the cheaper brands on the market is it?

Just in case you are interested I think it is 27 March 2009 that Toby Buckland on Gardener's World tackles the great Peat Debate.  A whole programmed on why you shouldn't be using a peat and are there any really good alternatives.

I personally thought I knew the whole reason for not using it, but since reading about it actually didn't know the full story.  You may find this programme interesting.
