anyway AS  . . . . . . . .  i dont like the word illegal, i prefer to think of it as harvesting a resuorce thats already in place, ya know, rather like recycling in a way, just making the electric fence go that bit further for the same nett cost lol.

who knows, i might be doing him a favour  . . . . . . .  keeping them pesky birds off his fields, eating his worms, that grow the grass that his cows want to eat  . . . . . .  yeah, ya didnt think of that one now did ya eh lol

Hi Dave,

My experience of electric fencing when used for the horses is that it must be kept insulated from wooden posts using plastic insulators, so if your fencing is nailed to wooden posts it probably wouldn't work.

You would have to place a separate wire on insulators about 6 inches away from the fence completely separate from the fence or it wont work. Foxes will climb up the fence you have and get in. Don't know if links are allowed but this link has useful information.  http://www.agrisellex.co.uk/x1845.html

hi

we went up to 9ft with our coop fence and put an electric wire all the way around the bottom with isolators it works a treat, we have resident foxes here and the first night we heard an almighty scream so can only assume it was a fox, we have had no problem since  :D
