Just a question on warrigal greens - does any one know how to use them some sites say I have to boil them for three minutes two times before use because of high levels of oxalic acid, other sites say to eat them fresh like lettuce? any ideas

a.k.a. New Zealand spinach according to Google

I've never grown the stuff but I regularly eat perpetual spinach and regular spinach raw.

Yes, there is contradictory advice on their use.

So I would by my common sense(  :?: ) go as follows.

There is oxalic acid also in spinach, sorrel and rhubarb. Spinach has so much less than the other three that it's acidity is undetectable to taste as compared. Only this one would be commonly consumed raw.

So please do blanch, especially if eating in large amounts as a spinach substitute.

Used sporadically in salads, probably won't hurt you, though.
