I completely agree.

Unfortunately, I only have myself to blame

We have a Brabantia opener like the pic!

It'll open just about anything except tin lids which don't have a square edge!

It's great for dealing with the old arthritis!

I have one of those Mr G. They’re brilliant.

If the lid edge is sloped I find a bit of pressure bites the teeth into the metal.

That is nearly as annoying as people who use the last sheet of kitchen roll or loo roll and walk off leaving the cardboard tube  ::)

I completely agree.

Not to mention those among us who use the last of anything at all and leave the empty box/packet in the cupboard so that when you're checking to make up a shopping list you think you still have some!!! Are you listening, Jim?

Yes, it will get into a lid that way, but a jar of Tesco Pasta sauce, (...er ... I know I make the stuff normally, but it had been around for so long I wanted to use it to get within two years past its use-by date...:0), had quite a strong lid, sloped as you describe, and because of its age - ahem - I had to resort to a cold chisel out in the shed!

It was just fine, and I froze the rest too!
