 i was talking to someone today who said he gave his surplus eggs away because it was against the law to sell them. something about defra and selmonella???

its not an issue with me right now as none of mine lay but is he right?

1 Husband, 3 German Shepherds, 3 Black Jersey Giants, 3 White Jersey Giants, 1 White Jersey Cross, 1Blue Buff Columbian Brahma, 2 Buff Columbian Brahma, 1 White Columbian Brahma,  3 Gold Brahmas, 2 Golden Quail, 2 Giant Continental Rabbits and a Sister!

You can sell them as "farm gate". Not graded or classified and you are not allowed to sell them to a middle party to sell them on. Some of the others on here are more knowledgable about the details.

I've been told of this, but i'm not sure how true it is? We often see people selling eggs at our local car boot and nobody seems to mind.

i was sure that not everyone gives away free eggs but this guy was adamant..
