leek flowers
« on: July 07, 2013, 22:09 »
I have kept about 2 dozen from last years Musselburgh leeks for seed. A few of the leeks have sent up 2 flower spikes, should these be left to flower and set seed or are they imperfect plants and should be binned?

Thanks

All you need to know.

If I read it correctly, a long as yours were at least 1.5 km away from any other leeks, they should be OK!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks as always DD

I realise now the wording nay have been a bit confusing I meant that an individual leek has sent 2 flower spikes up within the 1 plant, but on reading the article I would have to get rid of them anyway.
