We also received manure.............all 16 tons of it. That's to be divided between six of us.
I've got a bit of barrow work to do tomorrow. Must remember to increase the pressure in the tyre and oil the axle.  ;)

Hoped to go and dig up leeks and parsnips today. Not looking good as temp is not getting above 2 degrees all day. Still, will go anyway and have a look.

That's what I had planned for the day....... a lovely day for it to but it didn't come to fruition.

On the list for tomorrow.....instead of "going into town on the bus" (Sorry Mrs P!)

Dig over a raised bed and now ready for good cover of compost.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

And I still haven't got to the plot!! Did manage to escape the the greenhouse for a while so at least one end of that looks like it's cared for.

Managed to spend a few minutes on my very soggy plot, only to take the bird feeder and bird bath. Everything looks so sad at the minute it will be lovely to see new signs of life. Longing for spring now :)

Spotted a scaffolder in the road and bought 8 x 13' scaffold planks for raised beds. £5 a board is not bad.
Harvested some sprouts Trafalgar & Turnips Petrowski before the rain joined the howling wind.
Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and be suspected of knowing nothing than opening it and proving it.

Looked at the creeping buttercup and tidied the shed. Perhaps we will have a dry warm March like we did last year.

In between Sundays I got to the plot for a whole 90 minutes:

lifted leeks and parsnips
straighted the path edges and dug a little

It was wonderful...

Seeing as the soil is so wet I've planted my garlic in modules in the cold greenhouse. They can be planted out later. I've also sown 40 Kelsae onions in modules.

Dug up parsnips and carrots and picked sprouts ready for Tuesday.

Looked round -- everything OK ie not under water.

Other plot holders not so fortunate and the water meadows are under water too behind the hedge

Didn't go to the plot today as

 a) Its raining heavily
 b) Its Christmas Eve
 c) I think my wife would go mad

   Happy Christmas
