This post has reminded me to feed and water my rhubarb plants ;)

It's reminded me to keep an eye out for the ones I dug out to make sure they're not still hiding somewhere nearer Australia than the surface of my plot.... just waiting to reappear again.

I think most rhubarb plants want to make seeds and the easiest way around this is to simply pull out the whole seed stalk when they appear and the plant will continue with regular leaves. Otherwise you'd be digging and replanting every 2nd year, which is far too much work.

I was keen to see the back of two of mine. They were grown from seed and I was very pleased with them.... at first. Unfortunately they were not the tastiest variety so...off with their heads and their tails....

The roots were not so easy though  :(
