Hi agian, I was asking a friend about whats the best food to feed new Leeks they are about 8/10 " now, there are going to be replanted over the week end in pots, my mate was saying he used to used manure in a mess bag hung in a barrel with rain water and use the water is this right or just pulling my leg, cause it seems to be getting longer everytime I ask him LOL...cheers

You can use 'manure tea' on most things. I don't feed my leeks, but they're in the soil rather than in pots.

It wouldn't do any harm I suppose  :)

Sounds about right.

It truthfully is a well known technique for making liquid feed.

I feed mine nothing!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I will be just using compost in my pots, would you both use just water ???

Nutrients in containers can soon run out, I'd be inclined to give them a wee dram every week or so.

Once they stop growing over winter, (if you keep them that long|),  there won't be a of point though.

never feed mine but must admit the couple of rows that got all the run off from hosing down after cleaning out the ducks were the best by far -- could be the extra water or the enrichment that ducks bring to everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
