There has been a lot of discussion in the past about this - it's a common problem - steaming them seems to be better.

My Golden Wonder are the same. A little research suggests that storing them for a few weeks before using so that they dry out a bit helps.

I've read a few times that this is down to a dry growing season. And yes, I found that last year my Picasso cooked better after they were stored for a month or two.

I think that putting them in boiling water helps.

I agree with crh75, since I have putting my potatoes into boiling water, putting the lid on and turning the heat down I have found that they are fine.
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

I think that our pots have a thinner skin than those bought in the supermarkets, which have been stored for much longer. As soon as the skin breaks when cooking then the potatoes will begin to breakdown.I also put into hot water but I also cook them slower and below boiling as soon as the skins break I take them off.
