hen plucking cockeril

I have just got another point of lay hen to go with another slightly younger girl and a six month old cockeril, they all have been together for two weeks and all is well, they seem to get on, I did notice today the older hen was plucking small feathers from the cockeril neck area, he did'nt seem to mind and looked like he was enjoying himself, Is this normal? and what happens if she plucks him bald !!! he is a Buff Orpingdon and he's very handsome the way he is!!
