Squash and cheese dauphinoise tonight, with steamed kale.  OH is off digging this afternoon ready for the potatoes, so will need something substantial when he comes in.

At least the sun is out, so it is less miserable.  I hope it holds for the weekend.

I know that feeling   After digging on the plot this afternoon, I arrived home in a slightly delirious 'need carbs ... now!' mood.

Spag bol has been applied and I now feel more grounded.  So grounded in fact, I may not get back off the sofa for some time  ;)

Comfort food this evening - cheese on beans on a big jacket spud.
That sounds like a lardman staple!

Unless it was nuked and eaten standing up in the kitchen whilst loading the dishwasher it doesn't count  :D  :nowink:

Im a bit stuck tonight as I've run out of spuds  Having only just got home it's a bit late to start pasta or rice and I finished up the noodles last night. It's looking like scrambled eggs...

Bought some plaice fillets on special offer at t*sco this afternoon, and steamed them in foil packets with lemon and butter.  Served with parsley pots, kale and runners.  I have to say that the fish was a bit underwhelming, but the veggies were good!

I had veggie burger in a cheesey bun with some salad.
My bake for the weekend was a coffee and walnut cake and I had a slice of that for pud :)

Tonight is deluxe toad in the hole, ie there are roast veggies under the batter too! (no dear, that isn't so you get less sausage, it is so you get more veggies  ::) ) With the last of the kale and onion gravy.

I found a tiny pork chop at the bottom of a multi-pack  ::) so I'll cut it up to go in a stir-fry.

I actually remembered to pick up a pack of beansprouts when I bought my paper, this morning - must be a miracle.

Deconstructed shepherd's pie, mixed veg and spoon-standing.  So tried I'm surprised I didn't fall asleep face down in it.

Been digging on the plot again so tea is an expanding feast tonight.

There are baked potatoes, pork chops, some of the last Buffy Ball squash from the shed and braised red cabbage from the freezer already on the go.  Spoon standing will be added.

Now I'm eyeing up some yorkshire puds in the freezer and working out if I can fit them in the oven

It's been ages since I had some yellow frizbees  :( The girls are only giving me 2 eggs a week now and it feels wasteful to use them like that. I could replace them but I owe them a good retirement considering the surplus I given away over the years.

Tonight I'll be using last weeks eggs for a mushroom omelette to go with spicy wedges - just can't decide on the veg either peas, mushy peas or baked beans.  ::)

Don't you lot eat when I go away?   :)

Last night was a rustle up Aldi bbq ribs, jackets and bit of salad when we got back.  Tonight is a fridge clearing chinese - chicken thighs in star anise sauce, stir fried veg and special fried rice.  Must go and get the chicken and french beans out of the freezer ...   ::)

Definitely - I'd have fallen over in a heap by now if I hadn't been fed

Monday was ...  ... oh yeah - a fish inspiration thingy out of a box (not very inspiring imo) and last night was a late one, so OH got pasta bake to heat up and I had chicken salad stuffed in a wholemeal pitta bread when I got home.

Tonight I have a staff meeting at job no.2 - oh the joy  :nowink: - so more pasta bake for OH and I'll see how I feel when I get in.
