Shallots
« on: March 13, 2010, 17:02 »
I'm hoping to get my shallot bed dug over on Monday with the intention of planting Wednesday have I left it too late to dress with chicken pellets and/or FB&B will it do more harm than good putting it in so close to planting.

TIA
Missy

Go ahead. They will be fine. It will be a day or two before the shallots put out roots.

F,B & B will take a couple of weeks to properly activate. The chicken pellets, just slightly earlier. :D

BFB will be fine as should the pellets.  A little trick is to water after you have raked it in as this helps to get everything working.

I have won prizes for my shallots three year in a row now using this method - so I think it works.

Happy Growing
