Bean frame (Munty)
« on: February 07, 2009, 00:47 »
Hi I have lost the thread on how to build one of these - is it possible to get advice and spec details?  I would be grateful for any information.

Regards

I think this is what you're looking for. And it really does work. Think of a goalpost with strings.

Think of a goalpost with strings.

For a visual learner this description is a great way to help the design sink home. Thanks!

All I need now is to work out where south is (shouldn't be hard) and attempt to line my new "munty" up in the right direction without skewing it across the plot and wasting space. ::)

Hmmm. Thought I had found a link to the instructions for building a munty frame, but the link doesn't work.  Maybe it is too old and discontinued?  Anyone have a working link that I can use please?

I use canes as well most of the time, but the poster asked for the link to Munty's frame which has proved very popular since Munty put the details on here six years ago.

This year I am using string, but up and over garden arches which are connected horizontally by canes.  So far the beans are climbing up the strings fine!

I need to get my cukes started on the strings and then they'll continue to follow them, same with runner beans.
