Hi, Last year grew Toms, they were leggy and weak and never gave much crop, learnt from my mistakes and have much stronger plants this year, nice thick stems and plenty oy leaves, unfortunately if I put them out in the sun on a nice warm day they wilt, they need sun and light, so I give them that and they wilt, when they are left in direct sun on the window ledge they dont wilt confused...

They lose water quicker than the roots can handle when you first put them outside in the sun and fresh air, specially if it's a bit breezy as well.

get them used to it a bit at a time and they should be fine ;)

A lot of fully grown plants even hardy weeds will wilt if it gets too darn hot and perk up again as the sun loses strength . I expect that it is a safety mechanism  to lower the surface area exposed .
Not always as serious as it first appears ! :)

Oh hope your right, they looked fab on Monday, kept an eye on the ones in the kitchen which were great and totally forgot the ones in the conservatory, quite wilted today, given them a good watering so fingers crossed  :(

I always think they look worst when they're thirsty and you give them a good drink, and they promptly collapse in a heap. No idea why they do it, must be brainfreeze or something.

I wonder if its the sun making the pot and so the roots warm? I know some plants demand a cool root run, is tomato one of these?
