I thought my cherry tree I palnted 2 years ago got canker, it is on the main chunk. the chunk was cut in by the metal support which I didn't notice until last winter as it was bleeding. the photos were from last year and it was sapping again since last month.
 
Any advice will be appreciated.

It looks now the same as the photo I post with some hard sap on it.

I would have expected more problems with the bark around the wound if it had been canker.  It looks clean enough just needing more time to heal.
