hello.

will a chicken eat a rat? will the rat cause any problems after being eaten? will it make the chicken sick?

I doubt they would eat one (unlike mice and frogs), however if you do find a dead rat in your run then please remove it as you won't know how it died. If it was poisoned this could have an effect on your hens.

i had  rat run through the garden while the hens was out, one grabbed it and flung it, n they all chasrd it untill it fell into a whole and i used a peice of wood to kill it( put wood nxt to it as it climbs up press wood against side and twist till u hear a snap)

it was only a smal one...

if a very small one they could have mistaken it for a big mouse, but usually they ignore rats.
