Oh no, one was definately not enough that is why they are in the freezer

I think I am to be commended for my restraint and will power at stopping at one. I can usually demolish at least 3 at one sitting. Especially when they are warm from the oven.

I only had one and some fruit for my lunch :)

They look fab!  I dare not make any and have ordered just a pack of four so I don't go overboard like I did when I made the malt loaves

Yes that is the problem with baking! I am always looking for the best recipes, then when I find one that I really like, I have to give it all away fast (so I can't eat it!) and never make it again - for the same reason! If it will freeze that is always good, except the only baking I like after it has been frozen is bread! So I think all my baking is a bit of a pointless exercise!  :)

It is really, really hard this Slimming world, 'cos I love baking and bread and get really miserable when I can't do as much baking or try out new recipes. :( :(

OH is the skinny one in the family so he gets to eat the bread, buns and cakes, and even he is cutting down to trim a little bit off his tum.

I still have some mince pies from 'you know when' and some mincemeat Chelsea buns sitting in the freezer from a month ago. :(

Thank goodness my customers are still eating cake so I can try out new recipes on them.

However there is a chocolate and cherry bun the equivalent of 5 syns with my name on it for my breakfast tomorrow.

And...... my friend has had brilliant news about her breast cancer so I am going to make a batch of apple, hot cross buns for her to celebrate with her family tomorrow.  :D

I've got a sourdough proving at the moment but it's a bit of a made up recipe. I've but some very dark stout in it, a tablespoonful of black treacle and some caraway seeds in it. This is to eat with stew so I've gone for something with a bits of gusto  :D

Oh it all sounds so nice! I love to try a new recipe too. Mrs Bee, that is good news about your friend, apple hot cross buns sound good. And so does your bread Compostqueen, I must get some caraway seeds, they seem to be in every recipe I look at, at the minute. :)

I was not crazy about the caraway seed taste but maybe I didn't need them in this particular loaf  :)

Use in moderation, I think is the answer.
Growing salad leaves isn't rocket science.

I think caraway seeds are an aquired taste, but quite nice in rye bread.

Cardomom spice hot cross buns and a French Country loaf was today's bake.

My son, who has some uses, picked up some malt extract so I can start a starter for  some pane casalingua for the weekend.

Those all  looks delish  :)  Mmmmmm cardamom. Everyone here had hot cross buns today but I resisted.  I wouldn't have done though if I'd baked them  :tongue2:

I keep things very simple Trillium, so I can make them whatever time I have and they don't have to wait for a baking or cooking day ;)

A 500g white bread mix pack and milk instead of whatever water the pack says to use.  A small piece of butter, a tablespoon of sugar and a generous pinch of mixed spice.  All chucked into the bread maker on the dough setting and then a cup of dried fruit added 10 minutes before the end of the kneading stage. Once the machine has finished rising the dough, tip out and form into 12 buns.  Bake at 200 degrees C for 15 minutes.

Job done  :)

I did have just one for my breakfast.

Tomorrow will be the real test when i make them into Band B pudding with orange marmalade and hotel chocolate choc chips. Will be OK if it all goes in one hit. If there are leftovers I am lost. :D
