How high should a rabbit fence be?
« on: October 17, 2012, 13:56 »
I have just managed to get some mesh doors from some filing cabinets, and they will be ideal for a fence around my plot.. Only thing is i will need to cut them. I know they will need to be in the ground about a foot, but hom high from the ground to the top.

Many Thanks.

Rob

We have metre high stock fence separating us from the neighbouring field. In an attempt to deter rabbits walking straight in, we put rabbit netting along it to about half that height. They can climb - I've seen them.

Ours is a 1.2m high, with some in the ground as well.

Seems to do the trick

They bounce over the 3ft fences that peeps set up on our site.  In fact OH has seen them hop (no sweat) into the fenced off areas to get away from dog walkers ...  Grrr!   :(

My pet lop bunny had no problms with 2-2.5ft high, and a wildie would be fitter and more agile!!
