Preparing jar for pickling
« on: October 13, 2012, 11:48 »
I've got a mayo jar that I've saved for my pickled beetroots...

How do I prepare it?

Boiling water.... oven (what temp?)... both?

My beetroots are boiled and ready to slice and pickle  :)

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

I always do the same whether it's jams or pickles - washup in hot water and into oven gas 2 for 10mins -lids in a jug of boiling water. Use hot, or leave them to cool in oven and under water if they're going to be filled with cool liquid ;)
