I don't have an allotment but I do grow veg which supplements my family and our chickens yearly food needs.

I'm not a proper vegetable grower but more green fingered instead.

I am always so chuffed to come back from the plot with any crop, I don't care whether I'm a proper grower or not

If you enjoy it and you get some good stuff to eat out of it, you're OK by me

We're always disappointed if we come back from the patch with a full trug basket, and nobody asks us what we've got there...

Sometimes, I have to time the return to when everyone is coming out of church - that gets 'em!

I try to have a bit going through the winter - parsnips maybe leeks etc and u pickle a lot of cucumbers and bolted onions, but I cheat and freeze a lot of beans as I think it's nice to have something from the garden when there's not a lot happening outside!

That sounds like a proper passion for gardening Ma'am, and I suupose we all here have some of that!

I reckon we're discussing something to do with gardening several times a day, and luckily, because we're fortunate in having some more time than others, we can get down thto the patch regularly too!
