Spotty tomatoes
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:37 »
My first attempt to grow tomatoes hasn't gone too badly but some tomatoes on a couple of the plants have these funny brown spots on them:

Any idea what could be causing these?  It only effects 2 out of 6 plants and not all tomatoes on each plant, just a few.  They have been grown in my conservatory and I have been feeding them every other week and watering quite regularly.  I picked one yesterday and cut it open expecting to find a fly or larvae munching on it but it was clear and smelled really tasty.  So it appears to only be skin deep.  Would that mean they are safe to eat?  I don't really care about appearances given the aroma that came from cutting it open, I can't wait for more to ripen so I can sample them
Add me on PSN but nowadays I reach for the fork or hoe more than a controller

Looks like bacterial spot or speck, blame it on the weather ::).......It's quite safe to eat them though ;)
