Yay!  Finally my pink oca are finally starting to chit!   :)  I'm so pleased as these are the ones that I find the prettiest and really want to grow.  Goodness knows what I'm going to do with them all (the whites/reds/peach are mostly potted up and developing into small plants now).  I'm not even convinced I like the taste but it does me good having something to furtle for in winter, like digging for buried treasure!  :D

So, how are we all doing?
I know that Realseeds planted their tubers last week and I can't blame them, they probably have a lot to get in...
I'm getting a bit fed up of them now tbh.  I have 70+ sprouting in 3" and 5"(having been potted on today) pots.
I'm going to bung as many as I can in and then try to foist some off on the local gardening club.... ::)

I didn't get round to potting them up that last time and they have lovely long chits on them so will do it this week?
Perhaps they could go straight in the ground??? We're not expecting frosts down here now I don't believe ???

Mat be worth a try DBG.  I only faffed around with them so much because I was bored and then got a bit carried away.
I also could have done with leaving mine in a bit longer last year, so I wanted to get them off to an early start... ::)

I have planted mine in the ground yesterday a few really tiny ones to cosset at home and for salad greens. I have filled a whole bed with space down the middle for toms. I'm trying no dig beds this year so I have made small holes in the cardboard and popped them in covered with about 4" of well rotted manure. Will report back later.

Mine went in the ground Friday. I put them in a bit of a trench with plenty of chicken pellets and growmore!
Watch and wait now! :)

Mine are still in pots I cleared some ground yesterday so they will be going in the ground shortly. Do they Benicia from and feed comfrey or chicken pellets?

How tall do the plants get??

I'm planning on planting brassicas next to them and would need to net the bed.

About a foot tall - no need to net.

It's the brassicas next to them I need to net - I just didn't want to squish the Oca if they got any taller than that.

Thanks :)
